The Executive Committee consists of sub regional representatives totaling nine countries or less, including the representatives of the host country of the next APPF Executive Committee Meeting and the Annual Meeting.
The Executive Committee may submit recommendations to the Annual Meeting with regard to policy issues which the APPF wishes to address or the APPFs management policy. The Executive Committee carries out the necessary coordination with the host country of the Annual Meeting concerning the draft agenda and schedule of the Annual Meeting
Membership on the Executive Committee is open to all member countries of the APPF with due regard to balance in regional representation. Half of the Executive Committee members are reelected each year, being the method of election of its members decided by each sub-region in order to respect its voluntary will. The current Executive Committee member countries are: Japan and China (Northeast Asia), Indonesia and Malaysia (Southeast Asia), Fiji and New Zealand (Oceania), Canada and Chile (The Americas).
The term of office for an Executive Committee member is two years, from May of the year of an annual meeting until April two years later, but the term for a member representing the host country of an Annual Meeting is from May of the year preceding the annual meeting until April following the annual meeting.
