Welcome to the Fiji Parliament Web page. On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Fiji and its people, the Speaker of the Fiji Parliament, Hon. Dr Apensia Kurisaqila and its Secretary General, Mrs Mary Chapman, it is indeed a great honour to present to you the Fiji Parliament Home Page that provides useful information about Fiji, its history, consitution, laws, executive government, Parliament, tourist and investor information.
This Web page has been developed by Malakai Tadulala, Principal Research Officer of the Fiji Parliament and Akuila Yabaki, Assitant Manager ITC Services with the assistance of the staff of the Peruvian Congress during their Website training at the Peruvian Parliament in June 1998. This training programme was based on the invitation of the President of the Peruvian Congress Hon. Carlos Torres y Torres Lara to the Speaker of the Fiji Parliament Hon Dr. Apenisa Kurisaqila. This invitation follows the resolution reached at the last sixth Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) meeting held in Seoul, South Korea in January 1998 on the linking of the Fiji Parliament to the APPF Website and the agreeement reached between the Leader of the Fiji Parliamentary delegation to the APPF, Hon. Militoni Leweniqila, the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forests with his couterpart in the Peruvian Congress, Hon. Oswaldo Sandoval, Second Vice-President of the Peruvian Congress. This Web page is dedicated to the close cooperation between the Peruvian Congress and the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji.
